This program was designed to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live a healthy lifestyle. Through exercise, nutrition and health education activities, this workshop can help participants become stronger and healthier, improve self-advocacy skills and confidence, and connect with peers. Through this engaging, hands on curriculum, participants will gain the knowledge, motivation, and skills needed to create healthy habits that last a lifetime.

We are pleased to announce that the Virtual Coach: HealthMatters Program application is open for Fall 2024 enrollment. Deadline to apply is Friday, August 2 with the virtual training date(s) to be announced. This training is open to existing Healthy Living for ME service delivery partners. If you are interested in providing this program and/or participating in this training event but are not are not currently a Network partner, please contact Healthy Living for ME to learn more about partner and volunteer opportunities. Please note that registering for this event does not guarantee your attendance.




Living Well for Better Health

This program is designed to help participants deal with chronic conditions. Topics include: techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, pain and isolation, appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, and endurance, appropriate use of medications, communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals, nutrition, and how to evaluate new treatments.

Living Well for Better Health is also know as the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program. This training is open to existing Healthy Living for ME service delivery partners. If you are interested in providing this program and/or participating in this training event but are not are not currently a Network partner, please contact Healthy Living for ME to learn more about partner and volunteer opportunities.

Living Well with Diabetes is designed to help people with type 2 diabetes learn how to live well. Topics include: techniques to deal with the symptoms of diabetes, fatigue, pain, hyper/hypoglycemia, stress, depression, anger, fear and frustration; appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength and endurance; healthy eating, appropriate use of medication; and working with healthcare providers.

Living Well with Diabetes is also know as the Diabetes Pain Self-Management Program. Participants must already be certified in the Living Well for Better Health Program to be eligible for this training. This training is open to existing Healthy Living for ME service delivery partners. Building Better Caregivers

This program was designed for family caregivers of people with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), dementia, and/or any other condition that affects memory. Topics include: caregiver stress, dealing with difficult care partner behavior, finding help, making decisions about treatment, housing, etc., communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals, dealing with caregiver and care partner difficult emotions, planning for future needs, and legal issues related to caregiving. Program participants make weekly action plans, share experiences, and help each other solve problems they encounter in creating and carrying out their self-management program.

Participants must already be certified in the Living Well for Better Health Program to be eligible for this training. This training is open to existing Healthy Living for ME service delivery partners.
